Chapelle Saint Marc in Lyon
Overall view
The church has three naves with side chapels that were added after the spring of 1865. The church was opened to public worship on 22 May 1867.
This is a church on a truly imposing scale:
46 metres long; 20 metres wide and a height of 22 metres.
Natural light enters through 35 3.5 m high stained glass windows, five small rose windows on the side walls and a large 5.4 m rosette window at the end above the organ.
Following the renovation of its historic organ, it was decided that the Lycée Saint-Marc chapel was in need of new lighting able to highlight the magnificence of the late 19th century architecture.
The inauguration of this all took place before a large audience in October 2021, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its establishment.
